The One Hundred

“Style is a deeply personal expression of who you are, and everytime you dress, you are asserting a part of yourself.”

~ Nina Garcia in The One Hundred

The One Hundred

A little over a year or so ago, I was in an absolute style rut: I’ve always loved shopping, but I found myself wearing – and buying – the same items of clothing in the same ways over and over again. I had very little idea of what my true personal style was, and although I dog-eared inspiring looks in fashion magazines all the time, I wasn’t sure exactly how I (the non-runway model, non-Hollywood actress, non-troubled R&B/pop megastar, etc. :-)) wanted to dress. Nina Garcia’s The One Hundred helped me to assemble a wardrobe of classic basics and fun extras, but more importantly, the book inspired me to think about my own personal faves and must-haves.

In completely random order, here are my One Hundred (in parentheses after NG’s if the pieces are not identical), and like Ms. Garcia says of her list: “I have adapted and edited each item on this list to suit my style, my body, my personality. I hope you will do the same.”
