IMHO, there is nothing, nothing* quite like a red lip and/or red nails to instantly elevate a look. Sweatshirts and a baseball cap suddenly look intentional and pulled together (rather than thrown on 2 seconds before dashing out the door).
A few faves:
- Chanel “Dragon”
- OPI “Big Apple Red“
- Nars “Dragon Girl” matte lip pencil
(Hey… I just realized both 1 and 3 have “dragon” in the name. Completely unintentional and un-subliminal.)
*If I had to choose another item that works similarly, it would be a gorgeous handbag. I see women in workout wear (myself included) carrying nice bags all the time, and it does kinda decrease the I-just-sweated-in-this-outfit factor.

Oh, the things that red does for a girl’s spirit! When I need a little pick me up, red is often my color of choice. Thanks for sharing some of your faves for me to add to my stash!
You’re welcome! It really is amazing what a little red does 🙂 I recently branched out and wore lavender (!) on my nails… couldn’t help but chuckle every time I caught a glimpse of them. It might be a toes-only color, lol.
