Ingredients: makes 1 large smoothie
1 cup seedless green grapes
1 pear, chopped
1 banana (essential to tame the bite of the arugula: I left it out once and did NOT like the result)
1 1/2 – 2 cups super greens
1/2 – 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Add ingredients to blender in order listed, and blend until smooth. The grapes/pear provide enough liquid for my blender to blend this smoothie, but you could add a little water to help the process along, if necessary.
I make a green smoothie very similar to this, but I sub grapes for pineapple, and I add shredded carrots & flax seeds. The pineapple takes away the need for an added sweetener because it’s pretty dang sweet already! Thank you for sharing this – I’ll have to try it with grapes soon.
I added pineapple to my green smoothie on Monday, and it was delicious, naturally sweet, just like you said. Thanks for the tips, Disa 🙂

I don’t know why I never think to put grapes in my smoothies, but I’m going to try it! Especially since they have so much water in them, they would help with consistency. 🙂 Looking forward to trying this.
The water content is exactly why I started adding grapes, Kachet. Red or black grapes make the smoothies sweeter, but I have to be honest: it turns the drink such an unappetizing color, I just stick to green 🙂
