Inspired By: Bright Pink and Orange

This bright, but simple color palette caught my eye so I decided to put together something similar and fall-ready using pieces in my closet.

While I love the vibrant color pairing in the inspiration pic, I have to admit that I felt like I was blinding people at the mall when I wore this outfit. (I’m sorry if this outfit is blinding you right now, Dear Sweet Reader.) However, the denim jacket mitigated the squinting-and-eye-shielding effect a bit.

Actually, no. It didn’t. Back to the drawing board.

I realized this outfit needed more brown to ground the super-bright colors (so thaaat’s why the model in the picture is wearing all brown accessories!). Once I added this cropped trench coat and chocolate brown sweater vest – both of which I absolutely lived in year before last…looks like they’re moving towards the front of the closet again 🙂 – I loved the look.

Also, I took these pics late in the evening, so my bun may or may not have looked this messy all day.
