Entertaining: Dessert Party

Hubby and I hosted a pink-themed – okay, I chose the theme and he kindly went along with it – dessert party this past weekend. Fun, calorie-rich times 🙂

MENU

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Mini Cheesecakes, Tarts, and Eclairs

Strawberry Shortcake

Cookies & Cream Milkshakes

Bottled Water, Sparkling Water, Milk, Coffee, and Moscato

I usually set out my buffet well in advance of the get-together. Visualizing where things are going to go helps me get organized and makes things so much easier the day of the party.

KuppyCakes Red Velvet Cupcakes

Ms. Cain at KuppyCakes (Atlanta area) makes from scratch the most amazing cupcakes! We were drooling over the list of cupcake flavors and had a hard time limiting ourselves to just four different types for this party. These red velvet ones are a must-have. Y-U-M.

More KuppyCakes! I love the design and the perfect amount of icing, plus chocolate sprinkles! See, now I’m going to have to type with one hand while I eat the only leftover.

Simple, easy dessert #1: Top small brownies with whipped cream and fresh strawberry slices. I love how they look displayed on a lidded cake stand.

Simple, easy dessert #2: Blend milk, vanilla ice cream, and crumbled chocolate sandwich cookies. Top with whipped cream, and garnish with a cookie. Throw in a striped old-fashioned paper straw, and done.

Simple, easy dessert #3: Layer cubed angel food (or pound) cake, sliced strawberries, and whipped cream for a no-bake strawberry shortcake.
