As a girl who loooves her tea and truly digs special, little luxuries, attending Afternoon Tea* at the St. Regis has been on my really-want-to-do list from the moment I realized they even offered an Afternoon Tea. I’m so thankful to have been able to go twice this summer, first as a surprise sweet treat from the hub (who scored major brownie points** as you can imagine :-).
*I was happy to find that afternoon tea is far from rigidly formal: no gloves or hats required. I wore this to one tea and was very comfortable and appropriately attired.
**A good friend’s husband once said something to the effect of, “I don’t know why women bother giving brownie points because no matter how many a guy gets, they ALL disappear at the same time: the second he does something you don’t like.” I laughed at him the way one laughs at really good, observant comedians: It’s funny because it’s true!
Afternoon Tea Menu
Loose Tea Selection
Scones with Lemon Curd and Chantilly Cream
These scones are served fresh from the oven and are very soft and moist. I could have made a meal of these alone!
Jams, Jellies, Marmalades, Honey, Sugars, Lemon…
Afternoon Tea + Champagne = Celebration Tea!
Tiered Trays with Savory and Sweet Treats
This is absolutely lovely! I cannot wait to go.
You won’t be disappointed! I’d like to go back again… and again 🙂
