Books: State of Wonder

State of Wonder by Ann Patchett

Even before I  finished reading Bel Canto, I already knew I wanted to check out more of Ann Patchett’s fiction. (I snatched State of Wonder up fast when I spotted it for a great price at my local bookstore :-)) Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I think the fact that it touches upon complex relationships and ethical issues (i.e. outsider influence on indigenous populations, the role/responsibility of science in extending human fertility, etc.), would make it a great choice for a book club or discussion group.

What are some of your favorite books – do share, so I can add them to my list! – and what books are you reading now?

It IS good. I think it could’ve been much, much longer to give the author time to go into more detail. And that ending?!
