Books: The Cutting Season

The Cutting Season by Attica Locke

I’ve been an Attica Locke fan since reading Black Water Rising a few years ago. She has a talent for fusing likable, but flawed characters; vivid settings; true, real-world issues; and mysteries within mysteries in such an interesting way that her novels are engrossing and very hard to put down. Locke’s newest work of fiction, The Cutting Season, is set on a touristy antebellum plantation in Louisiana, and follows Caren Gray, the plantation’s manager, as she inadvertently connects two crimes that occurred over 100 years apart … A page-turner and a great read 🙂
