Hub and I had the best creamy smoothies at The Umstead a couple years ago, and I lucked up on making a surprisingly similar one while I was experimenting with smoothie recipes this past weekend. Remember that scene in The Best Man when Robin (a caterer, I think) was all excited to have Harper try the dish she’d made? Well, that was me. I was practically bouncing up and down: “Babe! This smoothie tastes like the one at The Umstead!” It’s the little things 🙂
Ingredients:
- 2 6oz black cherry Greek yogurt containers (I like Chobani for smoothies)
- 2 cups red grapes*
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 stem red kale, thick center rib removed
- 1 frozen banana (must be frozen)
- 2 teaspoons honey
* To make this smoothie even creamier, decrease the amount of grapes to 1 1/2 cups.
- Blend, and serve!
I have to attest that these smoothies are awesome!
It sounds yummy! I have to add this to my list of smoothie recipes. Does it make 3 servings?
Those are very small appetizer/shot type glasses in the pic, lol. This recipe makes about 24-32oz, enough for 2 good size smoothies.

Love these smoothies! Apple is an underrated smoothie ingredient.
