As evidenced in practically every single STYLE post, I’m more of a button down shirt girl than a t-shirt one. Not that I have anything against tees: I like them just fine, but they unapologetically snub me and my utter lack of curves, going all looking-like-a-5th-grader on me. Well, I’m not one to give up on something I want to wear – especially something that bills itself as stylish AND effortless (no ma’am) – so after much trial and mostly error, I decided that I will wear tees! I just prefer them to be of a more extreme cut, either pretty relaxed or very fitted, and/or layered. I’m okay with those stipulations 🙂
- Jacket: Zara boys’
- Cardigan: J Crew
- Floral tee: Banana Republic
- Skinnies: Madewell
- Sunnies: Ray-Ban
Love slouchy boots! These old ones are by Steve Madden.
- Denim vest: Old Navy
- Wide leg pinstripe pants: Anthropologie
Special thanks to my good friend – and Restaurant Guru 🙂 – Dr. R. for taking these pics of my 2nd look.
Cute looks! I really like the JC cardigan. I like how you mixed the tee with the denim vest for a more casual look. Denim vests/jackets are everything!
Thank you, Shannon! I needed something to bridge the floral and pinstripes, and (as usual) I reached for that vest! I love how adding denim to almost anything makes it more casual and interesting.

Love the first look – and those boots are killer!
Thank you, Lisa! I’ve already decided that I’m NOT putting those boots away for the season 🙂

Love the rugged look. I need to look in the boys section more often. That jacket is cute!
Thank you! The boys’ section is great for picking up relaxed, cropped items with a slightly boxy fit; for me, the proportions are better because I’m so short-waisted. Also, the shoulder seam of a boy shirt isn’t halfway down my arm like it would be on a men’s shirt.

Both outfits are cute! I really love the floral tee. 🙂
Mo
Thank you, Mo! I love this tee, too; the big flowers and the fact that it’s made of two different materials sold me on it. Thanks for reading!
