Prime Restaurant

Local: Prime Restaurant

Since Prime is located in Lenox Mall – right next to Anthropologie, which is very convenient if there’s a wait for your table or if you purposefully coincidentally make your reservation for an hour after you plan to arrive at Lenox – then I guess it technically is a mall restaurant. However, I promise you that it is far, far from the typical mall restaurant. It’s more like a white tablecloth dining establishment (since 1996!) that just happens to have a mall built around it.

Prime: Salmon & Grits

Wood Grilled Salmon Fillet, Pepper Jack Grits, Sweet Chili Spinach with Basil Oil

See what I mean? This is my go-to at Prime; I love it, and it’s been consistently yummy each of the jillion times I’ve ordered it. It’s always what I suggest to Prime first-timers… well, those that don’t already have their hearts set on steak.

Side note: My orthodontist and I had a long conversation about good grits. (Side note to the side note: We’re both Southerners, and sometimes Southerners get into long conversations about grits. It happens.) Anyway, we talked about how people who say they don’t like grits probably haven’t tasted really good, properly prepared grits – for example, cooking them in water only simply will NOT do. I asked, “Have you had the ones at Prime?” He said, “YES!” Then we talked about how bananas this salmon and grits dish is. Fun times at the orthodontist’s.

*I also had sushi as an appetizer on this particular day, but hub and I demolished it before I thought, “Hey, I probably should’ve taken a picture of that.” Sorry. I’ll do better next time.

Prime: Classic BLTClassic BLT & Hand-cut Fries

FYI: I’ve planned two lunchtime get-togethers in the Newcastle Room at Prime, and at both events, the food, service, and atmosphere were great! I definitely recommend it 🙂

I haven’t had their oysters…going to have to check them out, that is, if I can resist ordering the salmon and grits (again)! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
