One of the things I love about tie-neck tops – as if the fact that it’s a top with a tie-neck (*squeals*) isn’t enough 🙂 – is that they are so versatile. Depending upon the styling, they can look feminine or masculine; prim-and-proper or edgy; dressy or casual.
Here are 6 of my favorite ways to tie a tie-neck top:
- Put one end over the other as if you’re tying a shoelace, pull each end in opposite directions right/left, and then let the ends hang down.
- Create a girly take on the classic men’s necktie.
- Put one end over the other as if you’re tying a shoelace again, pull each end in opposite directions up/down, and let the ends hang down.
- Follow the same steps as for the previous picture, only this time spread the top piece of fabric wide so that it hangs over the bottom piece of fabric, like an ascot.
- Wind the fabric loosely – please don’t choke and pass out for fashion – around your neck, and tie the ends.
- My personal favorite: Tie a big, happy bow!
- Tie-neck Top: Club Monaco (HERE’SÂ a gorgeous one I can’t even begin to afford… and even if I could, I doubt I would pay that kind of money for a top. Anyway, it is gorgeous, so don’t let my ramblings deter you from checking it out :-))
- Cardigan: Frenchi (Nordstrom)
