Navy is my favorite color (followed by gray… very exciting, I know), and because I actually like an Americana-inspired color palette, it’s pretty common for me to be in red, white, and blue even apart from the holidays.
There’s a lot going on here, texture- and print-wise, and I think that adds to the wearability and deflagification* of the look. Also, to the friend who informed me that these shorts are not mid-thigh: I kind of see what you mean after looking at these pics. Somewhat.
*Politicians and reality tv stars have made it completely acceptable to make up random words, use them in sentences, and otherwise insert them into the English language. I kid, I kid… no, but for real.
- Hat: Target
- Railroad Stripe Jacket: Gap (styled differently in this post)
- Lace Tee: Old Navy
- Anchor Print Shorts: J Crew
- Shoes: Anne Klein (old, oldie, old-old)
- Sunnies: hub’s Ray-Bans… a bit too large for my face
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this outfit!!!!!
Thank you! I really like the way all the patterns/textures mesh together. Plus, red/white/blue and anchors are high on the fave list 🙂
